Leadership Presence: Rules Of The Road
Session Background
Many professionals advance rapidly in their careers based on their technical expertise and ability to deliver results. They are often challenged though when they continue to rely on these same foundational skills, thinking that “more of the same” will carry them for the next several promotions. In reality, the criteria for success shifts, and individuals need to truly understand a new set of rules and norms if they want to continue to advance and be viewed in a positive light. They need to understand whether or not they are viewed as demonstrating leadership “presence” and to work at managing their professional reputation in the organization.
Session Objectives
- Clearly define leadership presence and why it is such an important component of effectiveness
- Create an opportunity for participants to get first hand feedback about how they are perceived by others and advice about what to do about it
- Help participants identify practical and pragmatic development plans they can put in place to enhance their leadership presence.
